Lastly, I was looking forward to jumping into each of the worlds briefly to decide which one I'd play through first. There was also a point in the games opening where you have to create a character avatar similar to Rec Room, It seemed kind of pointless when I couldn't see my character for almost all the time I played (though maybe this is a content creation kinda thing for people with greenscreen setups?). Throwing eggs into a blender and making a potted plant sandwich in Job Simulator felt like something a kid would do if put in a kitchen with no instruction. Using minigames instead of the environments was one of my biggest gripes with Vacation Simulator because it wasn't natural to build sandcastles at the beach out of blocks that matched a blueprint.Job Simulator Lastly was so popular amongst my friends because the interaction in the world felt natural, wasn't forced and leant itself to creating humor by being given props and making a mess.įrustratingly Vacation Simulator doesn't have any of this and just has these obtuse layers of the game that don't really add anything on the original.Job Simulator was so great because it was all unlocked from the outset, easy options again simplify getting players into something they want faster, no progression so everyone had options.Job Simulator had an intuitive setup for every level that required no teleporting and meant everything was within a step or a knob turn, perfect for introducing people to the idea of VR.The biggest downfall of the sequel is that I think it missed what made Job Simulator so great and easy to play. Picked up Vacation Simulator today and ended up refunding it after about an hour or so of really trying hard to like this game, so I'll preface this by saying that if it gets magical after 2 hours I guess thats on me.
